ACE Bahrain has significantly exceeded our initial expectations in terms of business flow this year with a resultant increase in finance workload. This, plus the planned commencement of business activities in the UAE, has necessitated a reorganisation of our Finance team to ensure we have the right resources going forward. As a result I am pleased to announce the following changes with immediate effect:
Hashem Jawad will take on the role of Finance Manager - Bahrain / UAE. Hashem will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and finance function in these two territories and will continue to report to me with a functional reporting line to Miriam Connole (Amanda D'mello will continue to report to Hashem).
Aftab Akhtar will join the ACE MENA team as Regional Financial Reporting Manager, based in Bahrain. Previously with the ACE Finance team in London, Aftab will be responsible for all coordinating regional management reporting and planning as well as US GAAP reporting. He will also assist the local teams transition to the new software solutions we plan to implement, and work with them to ensure that they have the processes in place to meet local management and statutory reporting needs. Aftab will also report to me, with a functional reporting line to Miriam Connole.
