The company employs over 60 staff in its offices in Al Khobar, Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Hassan, and traces its roots to 1974 when the Insurance Company of North America signed an Agency Agreement with the International Corporation for Trade & Contract Services (ICTCS) owned by Sheikh Abdul Karim El Khereiji. In 1989, Arabia Cigna was formed as an offshore joint venture company between Sheikh Abdul Karim El Khereiji and Cigna International Holding Co. In 1999, the ACE Group acquired Cigna International Holdings, and the company was renamed.
Under the Saudi Insurance Law of 2005 companies operating in Saudi Arabia were required to localize their operations and, in 2009, ACE Arabia Cooperative Insurance Company was duly formed as a local company and listed on the Tadawul (symbol: 8240). In December 2009, ACE Arabia was licensed to conduct insurance business by the Saudi Arabia Monetary Agency.
